Bishop Clarence V. Russell, III

Bishop Clarence V. Russell III has been fulfilling the call to preach the Gospel and fulfilling the mandate to bring healing and hope to people across the country for nearly 28 years. Bishop Russell currently serves as senior pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church, Suffolk, VA and has served in that role for 23 years.

 

After being baptized by his grandfather at an early age and growing up under the leadership of his father, Russell III heard a call from the Lord and at the age of 18 preached his initial sermon. Two years later, he was appointed as the Assistant Pastor of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church with a congregation of just over 2,000 people. In November 2000, Bishop Russell, III was called to be the Pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church, Suffolk, Virginia. He has a great love for God and his people, and he diligently works toward fulfilling the vision for this ministry.

A graduate of Chowan University, Bishop Russell has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Religion. He was voted onto the Chowan University Board of Ministers. He is also a Harris Scholar that has studied abroad in England. He plans to further his education by pursuing his Master of Divinity degree.

Bishop Russell, III, is the District Leader for the state of VA for the Global United Fellowship and he is an Executive Board member of the Hampton Roads Ecumenical Council of Bishops. Bishop Russell is the author of two books, Transitioning Into Kingdom Living, his first publication, which was published in 2012 and his second is entitled BUILDING Families. His focus has been centered on leading and developing parishioners at St. Paul Baptist Church, Suffolk, Virginia and accomplishing the five-fold assignment for the church, which is Healing, Economic Empowerment, Authentic Worship, Lifestyle Transitioning and Serving the Community. Simply put, St. Paul H.E.A.L.S.

He is married to Elder Jaimi Brown Russell and they, together, have four children: Clarence IV, Caitlyn, Casey, and Caleb.
