About Elder Jaimi B. Russell
Elder Jaimi Russell: A Life of Service, Leadership, and Empowerment
Elder Jaimi Russell was born and raised in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, as the daughter of Rev. Waverly and Lady Ann Brown, Sr. From an early age, she was immersed in the values of faith, service, and community, which would shape her life’s work and ministry.

After graduating from high school, Elder Russell pursued higher education at Old Dominion University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Information Systems. It was at ODU that she was introduced to the ministry of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop C.V. Russell, Jr., a pivotal moment that not only deepened her spiritual journey but also brought her into connection with her future husband, Clarence Russell, III. Together, they would go on to serve in ministry and build a life of shared faith and purpose.

During her time at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Elder Russell played a key role in the launch of the Faith in Action Bookstore, traveling across the country to market the ministry’s work. Her efforts were instrumental in the success of this venture, as well as her role as publicist for Bishop Russell during the Debt Cancellation Movement—a campaign that garnered worldwide attention. The movement was prominently featured on the front page of The Wall Street Journal, as well as in People Magazine and on the BBC, making a significant impact both in the U.S. and abroad.

Elder Russell’s professional journey is marked by a variety of impactful career moves. She has served as an adjunct faculty member at the college level, where she taught with a passion for education. She also worked in social services as a computer trainer, equipping individuals with valuable skills. Today, she is the Vice President of Human Resources for a multi-million-dollar community mental health organization, where she continues to advocate for the well-being of others in a leadership capacity.

Beyond her professional achievements, Elder Russell is dedicated to empowering women. Through her daily Facebook segment, The Daily Dip from the Well, she reaches out to women each weekday morning at 6:00 a.m. with words of encouragement, wisdom, and spiritual nourishment, helping to uplift and inspire her audience.

For over two decades, Elder Russell and her husband have served faithfully at St. Paul Church, where they have been instrumental in guiding and nurturing the congregation. Their 24 years of service at St. Paul reflect their unwavering commitment to both their community and their faith.

Elder Russell is a devoted wife and mother to four children: Clarence IV, Caitlyn, Casey, and Caleb. She and her husband reside in the city of Suffolk, where they continue to make an impact in both their local community and beyond.
Through her various roles as a minister, educator, leader, and advocate, Elder Jaimi Russell exemplifies a life of service, dedication, and faith, all while striving to empower others to reach their fullest potential.
